Our Incumbent

The Reverend Mark C. Moote

Ever since childhood Mark has been interested
in the church. He was a choir boy at age seven and
later  served at the altar for his father Archdeacon Bud Moote in La Ronge, Saskatchewan.

Mention bowling and out comes Mark with his
bowling bag ready to take up the challenge.

In the Summer months his bowling bag might be
substituted for a Golf bag. Otherwise his face is
securely ensconced at the computer.

Mark is married to Linda Greig Moote. Two sons, Garth  married to Darlene and Paul with Selena have 3 children, living in Ontario.

Born in St. Catharines, Ontario in 1952, and at the age of 15 moved to the Diocese of Saskatchewan, with his parents and two brothers Garth 18 and Christian 3.

After six years of radio and television broadcasting throughout Western Canada, he attended the University of Saskatchewan and Emmanuel St. Chad.

Ordained Deacon in 1984 Mark was posted at St. Stephen the Martyr in Thunder Bay. One year later he was ordained Priest.  In 1988 Bishop Les Peterson approved a move to the Church of the Resurrection, Sudbury.  In 1995 a change brought him to Chaplancy in the Sudbury hospitals.  In 2000 Plain and Valley parish invited Mark to Lumsden.  He was the Regional Dean of Pelly Deanery and Rector of Whitesand parish including the communities of Togo, Key Reserve, Canora and Kamsack, SK., where he and his wife Linda lived in the rectory with their dogs Sam and Muzu.
